Kingston Road Closures & Delays for March 14 to 20

PRINCESS STREET RECONSTRUCTION

Princess Street remains closed:
– from Bagot to Montreal until April.
– from Sydenham to Montreal until the end of May.

The intersection of Montreal and Princess streets is closed to vehicular traffic until mid-May. Pedestrians can continue to cross here.

Motorists should expect delays on Princess Street between Sydenham and Clergy while crews complete servicing work.

Motorists should expect occasional delays at the intersection of Bagot and Princess Streets while crews complete work associated with Princess Street reconstruction project.

Businesses on downtown Princess Street remain open and accessible during this project.

Kingston Transit riders: please note that a temporary stop for routes 2, 4 and 18 has been set up on the south side of Queen Street at Montreal Street to accommodate bus detours associated with the Princess Street closure. See detour details at CityofKingston.ca/residents/transit/service-alerts.

LA SALLE CAUSEWAY LANE CLOSURES – PUBLIC WORKS AND GOVERNMENT SERVICES CANADA

Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) advises that it will be closing a lane on the La Salle Causeway from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday, March 14 and Wednesday, March 23 to accommodate the installation of a guardrail and railing.

This lane restriction may be extended to other 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. periods between these dates if needed, as inclement weather could change the schedule. (PWGSC contact: Wayne Kole, asset manager, Engineering Assets, Ontario Region 416-512-5962.)

UPCOMING ROAD CLOSURE

Wellington Street will be closed between Princess and Brock from 7 a.m. on Monday, March 28 until 2 p.m. on Friday, April 1 to accommodate a crane that will be loading steel into a building project.

Work to reconstruct the following roadways is underway:

– Princess Street between Bagot and Clergy
– Montreal Street between Queen and Brock
– Sydenham Street between Queen and Princess
– Clergy Street between Queen and Princess
