Kingston Road Closures & Delays for March 20 to 27

LA SALLE CAUSEWAY CLOSURE

Details of a Public Services and Procurement Canada closure of the La Salle Causeway – from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. on Friday, March 25 – follow at the end of this message.

PRINCESS STREET RECONSTRUCTION

Princess Street remains closed:
– from Bagot to Montreal until April.
– from Sydenham to Montreal until the end of May.
The intersection of Montreal and Princess streets is closed to vehicular traffic until mid-May. Pedestrians can continue to cross here.

Motorists should expect delays on Princess Street between Sydenham and Clergy while crews complete servicing work.

Motorists should expect occasional delays at the intersection of Bagot and Princess Streets while crews complete work associated with Princess Street reconstruction project.

Businesses on downtown Princess Street remain open and accessible during this project.

Kingston Transit riders: please note that a temporary stop for routes 2, 4 and 18 has been set up on the south side of Queen Street at Montreal Street to accommodate bus detours associated with the Princess Street closure. CONSTRUCTION ROAD CLOSURE

Wellington Street will be closed between Princess and Brock from 7 a.m. on Monday, March 28 until 2 p.m. on Friday, April 1 to accommodate a crane that will be loading steel into a building project.

EVENT ROAD CLOSURES

King Street will be closed from The Tragically Hip Way to Place d’Armes on Saturday, March 19 from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. for Metric.

King Street will be closed from The Tragically Hip Way to Place d’Armes on Thursday, March 24 from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. for the Johnny Reid Show

CONSTRUCTION DELAYS

Motorists should expect delays on Yonge Street between Union and Johnson starting on Monday, March 21 and until the end of April. Crews are doing servicing work to allow for the continued reconstruction of Yonge Street.

ROAD RECONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

Work to reconstruct the following roadways is underway:
– Princess Street between Bagot and Clergy
– Montreal Street between Queen and Brock
– Sydenham Street between Queen and Princess
– Clergy Street between Queen and Princess

LA SALLE CAUSEWAY— ROAD CLOSURE
FROM 1 A.M. TO 5 A.M. ON MARCH 25, 2016

KINGSTON, Ontario, March 22, 2016 — Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) wishes to advise motorists and pedestrians of an upcoming closure affecting vehicular and pedestrian traffic on the La Salle Causeway.

The closure is required to maintain the bascule bridge. Work will take place on Friday, March 25, 2016, from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m.

During this time, vehicles will not be allowed to cross the bridge. Work will cease periodically to allow pedestrian traffic to cross. PSPC and the City of Kingston are working together to ensure timely access for emergency vehicles.

The schedule above may change due to inclement weather.

Safety is a top priority for PSPC, and we are committed to ensuring the continued integrity of the bridges we manage. We apologize for any inconvenience these traffic restrictions may cause and thank everyone for their understanding.
