The City is inviting you to learn about its Active Transportation Master Plan: Walk ‘n’ Roll.

Informational Open Houses will present draft active transportation options targeting the City’s goal of having 20 percent of all trips be active ones by 2034.

The Walk ‘n’ Roll Open House will take place between 4:30pm and 7pm at two venues on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, May 9 at the INVISTA Centre, Room A/B (1350 Gardiners Rd.). Presentations will be made at both 5pm and 6:30pm.
  • Monday, May 14 in Portsmouth Olympic Harbour’s Press Lounge (53 Yonge St.). Presentations will be made at 5pm and 6:30pm.

In a City release, director of transportation services Ian Semple said “We want to invite everyone – and especially the more than 300 residents who offered input – to come see the draft plan built with the benefit of public input. Walk ‘n’ Roll will support and complement other City plans and strategies, all aimed at improving Kingston’s sustainability by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting healthy living.”

This draft plan will be Kingston’s framework for increasing active travel choices for residents in the city and based on public engagement activities that have taken place during the past 18 months.
