Local Trillium Gymnast takes Gold at Provincial Championships

Kingston’s Paige Cassidy took home the Gold this past weekend and became the Provincial All Around Champion in Level 7 (Age 16+) after competing at WAG 2019 Level 7-10 Provincial Championships in Amherstburg, ON along with four other local Trillium Gymnasts.

The gymnasts, who became eligible to compete based on their standings from three previous qualifying meets, showcased routines in 4 events at the Provincials including Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam and Floor Exercise.

Trillium Gymnastics Level 7 and Level 9 Provincial Results:

Level 7

  • Paige Cassidy (Age 16+) – Provincial All Around Champion (Gold)
    Sydney Campbell (Age 16+) – 6th on Balance Beam, 6th All Around
    Pyper Woodman (Age 15) – 4th on Balance Beam, 10th All Around
    Sarah Furtado (Age 12) – 6th on Vault & Uneven Bars, 7th All Around

Level 9

  • Jesse Weaver (Age 16+) – Silver Medalist on Balance Beam, 13th All Around

Paige will move on to represent Team Ontario and compete at the Eastern Canadian Championships in Prince Edward Island on May 8th-12th, 2019.

Trillium Gymnastics Club is now preparing for WAG 2019 Level 6 Provincial Championships where seven of its gymnasts will compete in Dorchester, ON next weekend.
