Kingston Transit reports it will be offering free transit across the city this Saturday at Princess St. Promenade Day. There will also be a free Kingston Transit escape experience at the event between 10am and 5pm on Princess Street between Barrie and Ontario streets.
Retailers, restaurants and other Promenade participants offer activities throughout this day-long event.
Attendees are also encouraged to use one of the four most popular Park & Ride locations, providing service to the Downtown Transfer Point in less than 20 minutes:
- the Kingston Gospel Temple, connects to Express 501/502 and Routes 4, 7 and 14
- Centre 70, connects to Express 501/502 and Routes 6 and 15
- Montreal St. at Highway 401, connects to the new Express 801/802
- Innovation Dr. at Highway 15, connects to Express 601/602
The Princess Street Promenade is designed to make Princess Street a pedestrian-friendly, vehicular-free festival zone, to promote the use of active transportation that includes walking, cycling or riding Kingston Transit to get downtown. Princess Street will be closed to motorized vehicles from 6am to 8pm between Division and Ontario streets.
