This week, Kingston residents can review and comment on the proposed Third Crossing bridge business plan and preliminary design draft reports.
Members of the public who want to provide comments on these reports are asked to do so before Friday, May 19, 2017 – allowing staff to review that input and incorporate it where applicable before the reports are finalized at the end of May.
“The draft reports on the preliminary design and business plan for the Third Crossing are the result of the work done over the last 15 months,” said director of engineering, Mark Van Buren, in a release. “We’ve received lots of feedback from the more than 330 people who came to the open houses last week and we know residents are interested in the detailed information in these draft reports.”
The preliminary design summary report for the Third Crossing is available on the city’s website at CityofKingston.ca/ThirdCrossing with the business plan to follow by the end of the week. Coments can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by May 19th.
The final reports and summary of recommendations will go to Council at a special meeting on June 13th beginning at 6 pm. If necessary, the meeting will continue the following day.
City staff has been working to get the proposed Third Crossing project “shovel ready”, at the direction of council.
If council decides to move forward with phase four of the Third Crossing Action Plan, the next step would be to develop a detailed design for the bridge.
