Kingston’s Santa Claus Parade Cancelled due to COVID-19

The City of Kingston, Downtown Kingston! and KFL&A Public Health have decided that this year’s Nighttime Santa Claus Parade will be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This decision was reached as the parties are concerned the large crowds who attend this annual event will not be able to physically distance from each other and follow the public health measures that are in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

But although the parade may be cancelled, Kingston’s holiday spirit will still be present downtown, according to Michèle Langlois, Downtown Kingston’s Interim Executive Director.

“We’ve heard that the elves are busy working on a few surprises that will add fun to the season in safe way,” Langlois said.
