Maclean’s: Queen’s University Students Study the Most

Published on: 2016/03/18 - in Featured News

According to a Maclean’s survey released this week, Queen’s University students study more hours than students at any other school in Canada.

In late summer and early fall of 2015, the magazine surveyed more than 10,000 students at 100 universities across the country, asking how many hours a week they spent studying.

A minimum of 50 responses per school was required to be included in the results.

Maclean’s then calculated an average for each school, rounded to the nearest thousandth, using the number of hours per week divided by the number of respondents from each school.

Queen’s University students in Kingston were determined to be the most studious, reporting an average of 19.966 hours of study time per week.

The remaining top five schools included Mount Allison (Sackville, NB) at #2 with 19.912 hrs of studying, followed by McGill (Montreal, QC) with 19.312 hrs, UBC (Vancouver, BC) with 18.962 hrs, and McMaster (Hamilton, ON) with 18.747 hours.

Full results for all the top schools can be found in the Maclean’s article “Where students study the most 2016“.
