Volunteers to Collect Cash and Food Donations at Santa Claus Parade

Families preparing to take the kids to see this year’s Kingston Santa Claus Parade are being asked to bring along cash or a food donation.

This will be the twenty-fourth consecutive year that volunteers from Trinity Presbyterian Church and other volunteers will be walking the parade route in their Santa hats and bright green vests to collect your donations.

The agencies report those years of support by the Kingston community allowed their volunteers to collect over $40,000 and 45,000 pounds of food.

The 2016 Night-time Santa Claus Parade will be held Saturday November 19th at 5 pm.

Organizers say sixty-five hundred people, 36% of them children, each year in the region depend on assistance from the Partners in Mission Food Bank. Two thousand pounds of food are given out to clients every day and the number of people grows every year.

Enjoy the parade while helping to ensure everyone in Kingston has food to feed their family through the holidays and cold winter months ahead.
