Deadline Approaches to Apply to Work the 2018 Municipal Election

Time is running out to work for the 2018 municipal election as the Friday application deadline approaches.

Applications are due by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, September 7 to fill positions that include site supervisors, deputy returning officers, machine operators and greeters/demonstrators.  Successful applicants will work at voting places on Advance Voting Day, Saturday, October 13 and on Voting Day, Monday, October 22.

Those positions offer the following rates of pay and the training session is included in this fee:

  • Site supervisors – $249 per day
  • Deputy returning officers – $225 per day
  • Machine operators – $200 per day
  • Greeters/demonstrators – $200 per day

Those seeking one of the positions should allow for 45 minutes to complete an online test. Job descriptions and a list of qualifications can be found on the Employment page of the City of Kingston website’s Elections section. Successful applicants will be required to attend a mandatory training session which will be scheduled in late September to early October.
