Mobile Waste Diversion Station

The City of Kingston is looking for your help in naming its new mobile ‘waste diversion station’.

The unit will be used to collect recycling and organic waste at events, diverting it from landfill, but the City thinks the mobile station needs a better name.

“We want something snappier than ‘waste diversion station’ that can draw attention to the station so that people will look for it at events,” said manager solid waste, Heather Roberts, in a release.

Roberts added that the station will be able to be booked for events in the near future, similar to Utilities Kingston’s Water Buggy.

The public can choose from one of three proposed names or suggest a new one up until Friday, August 4.

Suggested names include #WasteNot Wagon, Zero Waste Station, Green Diversion Giant.

You can find the survey linked to at CityofKingston.ca/GetInvolved.

According to the City, details on how to book the mobile waste diversion station for events will be posted soon.
