The City reports the last day of operation for the rink at Springer Market Square is this upcoming Sunday, March 17.
That makes 108 days of operation for the refrigerated rink which is the same number of days as last year. Unrefrigerated outdoor City rinks were used by skaters for 48 days this season – the most since 2011 – and are now closed for the year.
“We opened the unrefrigerated outdoor rinks on Jan. 14, which is later than usual,” said says Bill Linnen, director, public works services, in a release. “Then there were only two closures of four days each due to warmer temperatures, but they stayed in good shape.”
