Kingston has been rated among the best places to live in Canada, with further recognition as the best place to retire, and one of the top 5 medium-sized cities in Canada, by MoneySense magazine’s annual Best Places to Live survey.

“I am proud Kingston continues to be highly ranked in MoneySense Magazines’ top places to live in Canada,” said Mayor Mark Gerretsen. “Kingston consistently ranks high on this annual survey, demonstrating that our quality of life is among the highest across the county, something we can all be proud of.”

This year, MoneySense magazine’s Best Places to Live survey named Kingston;
• #11 Best Place to Live in Canada
• #1 Best Place to Retire in Canada
• #4 Best Medium-Sized City in Canada

The Magazine’s Mark Brown noted: “Kingston is popular among retirees, and for good reason. Not only is it one of Canada’s oldest settlements, it also boasts great access to health care and commuter lines. And with its historic architecture and picturesque waterfront, it’s no surprise that it’s home to a steadily growing population too.”

This is the ninth annual national rating by MoneySense which aims to measure the quality of life in 201 cities across the country. MoneySense considers 34 different factors based on data on each city from Environics Analytics and other partners. This year, MoneySense ranked St. Albert, Alberta as the #1 Best Place to live in Canada.
