Kingston Police report two local males, one 19 and the other 17 years old, are wanted for attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and robbery.

According to police, officers responded to a male victim lying in an alley behind 85 First Avenue – between Kingscourt Avenue and Nelson Street – at about 5:20pm on Monday, April 9. The individual was seriously injured due to an assault and immediately transported to hospital where he is currently in critical condition.
Following this incident, at approximately 2am this morning, April 10th, the same two males entered a residence on Newmarket Lane and violently assaulted another male.
Josh Owen Simpson, 19 years old (pictured) and a 17 year old youth are now wanted by police. Anyone who sees Simpson alone or with a youth are asked to contact 911 and are cautioned to not approach him.

April 11 Update: Kingston Police Detectives have revealed details of the violent robberies and attempted murder in the following release:
Kingston Police have arrested two local teenagers, a 19-year-old and 17-year-old, within 24 hours of two violent incidents. Both accused are now facing charges including aggravated assault, robbery and attempt murder.
On April 9, 2018 at approximately 5:15 p.m. the victim and a friend walked down an alleyway between First Avenue and Concession Street to meet two other males. As the group met up the two 19-year-old and 17-year-old accused appeared. The 19-year-old brandished an aluminum bat and struck the victim in the head. The males that had been waiting to meet the victim and his friends fled while the 19-year-old struck the victim again. The two accused then stole the victims backpack, wallet and cellphone before fleeing on foot.
Police were called and found the victim laying in the alley suffering from severe injuries. Frontenac Paramedics responded and transported the victim to hospital where he remains in critical condition.
On April 10, 2018 at approximately 1:00 a.m. the victim was at his residence on Newmarket Lane when the two accused whom he knew through friends showed up at his door. The victim invited the two accused into the garage. The group began smoking marijuana as the two accused told the victim about their earlier attack.
The two accused then suddenly attacked the victim, punching him and smashing bongs over his head before wrapping a tee-shirt around the victim’s neck in an attempt to choke him. The two accused robbed the victim of his wallet and cellphone before fleeing when another residence heard the commotion and opened the door. The victim suffered injuries requiring medical attention.
At approximately 2:45 p.m. in response to social media posts police received information that the 17-year-old suspect was in the area of John Counter Boulevard and Montreal Street. Officers responded and after a short foot pursuit the youth was arrested.
At approximately 5:00 p.m. a patrol officer spotted the 19-year-old suspect in the area of Montreal Street and Raglan Road. The officer stopped and arrested Josh Owen Simpson without incident.
Both accused were transported to police headquarters where they were held to attend a bail hearing the following day.
19-year-old Josh Owen Simpson is charged with attempt murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and two counts of robbery. The 17-year-old youth is charged with attempt murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and two counts of robbery.
