Kingston Firefighters to Defend Title at FireFit Competition
The Kingston Firefighters Combat Challenge team will defend their titles this weekend at the FireFit Canadian National Championships in Brampton.
Firefighters Ralph Crouse and Jamie Neadow placed first for the third year in a row in the last tournament, setting a new world record time in the Over 40 age category two person NXG2 race.
The Over 40 Relay Team will attempt to earn a second Gold Medal in three years, and the Open Relay Team is defending its Bronze Medal against a very competitive field of Firefighter teams.
Michael Frasso is seeking to improve on his 18th-place finish last year in the individual event, while also improving with the rest of his team on their respectable 12th finish in the National Championship finals.
The competition takes place from September 2 to 5 at the South Fletcher’s Sportsplex at 500 Ray Lawson Boulevard in Brampton, ON.
Along with Thursday night’s “Investors Group Thursday Night Concert Series” from 7pm-9pm, Brampton visitors can bring a lawn chair Friday night to watch the “Inspirational Music In The Park” event from 7pm-10pm.
Both concerts take place in Gage Park, at Main St. S. & Wellington St. W.
