Hanson Garage Rehabilitation Work to Resume in March

in News by

Hanson Memorial Parking Garage

Beginning March 6, rehabilitation work will begin again at the Hanson Garage on Brock Street.

Although the garage will remain open during this work, its parking capacity will be up to 120 parking spaces lower than normal. There may also be occasional garage closures to safely create ground-level work and work near the exit and entrance lanes.

People wanting to use the facilities during the rehabilitation period should check the City’s website and its Twitter page @cityofkingston for notifications of expected closures.

The first stage of this work was completed last year and the final stage is expected to be finished by mid-summer. The City reports the contractor is making efforts to minimize noise and dust as much as possible.

Alternate parking in the area may be found at the Robert Bruce Garage on Bagot Street at Brock Street, the Chown Parking Garage further west on Brock Street, and surface lots north of Princess Street.
