Hakim Optical Robbed on Gardiner’s Road

Kingston Police report that the Hakim Optical Store, located at 687 Gardiners Rd at Progress Avenue, was robbed this morning at 9:06 am.

In that incident, a man entered the store and appeared to brandish what staff believe was a black 9 inch handgun. The perpetrator left the store with cash and some sunglasses.

The individual is described as a Caucasian male, 6’0” tall, under 30 years of age, he is clean cut with short brown hair. Police report a very distinctive feature is that he has a mole on each cheek.

At the time of the robbery, the man was wearing a blue-green ball cap, fingerless gloves, a dark t-shirt under a dark button-up shirt, and had a dark color backpack.

A Uniform Patrol, members of the Emergency Response Unit, the Canine Unit and Forensic Identification Unit all attended the scene.

UPDATE JULY 25 –  Kingston City Police have released a Police composite sketch of the suspect in this robbery.
