The City of Kingston reports it will be conducting geotechnical field work on the future site of the Kingston East Community Centre this week.
Today and tomorrow (Wed/Thurs) crews are scheduled to be drilling with a truck-mounted drilling rig beginning at 9am into the late afternoon. Results from this drilling at the Centre’s chosen site, near Highway 15 & Grenadier Drive across the street from Lasalle Secondary School, will help the City study the soil and rock around the area in advance of designing the earthworks and foundation.
“This work is an important step in the process and will help to determine the site conditions for the project and guide next steps,” said the city’s recreation facilities manager, Adam McCluskey, in a release. “Following this, we look forward to presenting some designs for public input in early 2018.”
