After being closed for almost two months, due to a partial collapse in their underground parking garage, the Confederation Place Hotel has been declared safe for occupancy again.
According to the hotel, its front desk staff are taking reservations again and cleaning staff are getting rooms ready for guests.
A spokesman interviewed by CKWS News said their situation was unique, compared to a typical construction project, in regards to how long exactly they would be out of business.
The Confederation Place Hotel’s underground garage partially collapsed in late April of this year.
A large segment of the top floor in its two-level underground garage, located right underneath the hotel, collapsed onto the bottom level causing damage to about 20 cars but caused no injuries to guests or staff.
An email to the hotel’s guest services’ general inquiries – seeking more details about parking availability for guests, and whether room reservations are being taken for some future date or if rooms are ready for occupancy now – was not returned.
