Charleston Lake Outlet Boat Ramp to Close for Repairs

in News by

The Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority (CRCA) is informing Charleston Lake area residents and visitors that construction and repair work will begin at the boat launch facility at the Outlet of Charleston Lake beginning Monday, September 24.

Construction will include installation of a new floating dock and abutment during which the boat launch will be closed for approximately two weeks.

The CRCA states this work is being done because the current Outlet of Charleston Lake dock is a wooden post pile structure that has reached the end of its viable service life and inaccessible during some seasons, particularly during times of higher water levels in the spring. The installation of the new, permanent floating dock structure will improve year-round access.

While the Outlet dock is closed, boats can be launched and retrieved at the Village of Charleston public boat ramp facilities at the north end of the lake. Charleston Lake Provincial Park also has a facility but there are fees associated with using its boat launch.
