The Ontario government announced today that Kingston will be one of the first communities in the province to have a cannabis store open in July.
A total of 14 cities are included in these first stores, which will be run by the LCBO separate from its liquor outlets.

The physical location of the local outlet has not yet been determined – public notices will be posted when that decision has been made.
More communities slated to receive cannabis stores will be named before these initial ones open in the summer.
In addition to Kingston, the following cities will also be among those to receive a cannabis store in July:
- Sault Ste. Marie
- Thunder Bay
