City of Kingston staff will be available to speak with at a public information session to present a summary of the Belle Park Ideas survey.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday August 22 at 6 pm, with the presentation beginning at 6:15 pm, in the INVISTA Centre located at 1350 Gardiners Road.
In a release, Adam McCluskey – manager, recreation facilities – welcomed citizens to “see what we are hearing from the public about future opportunities for Belle Park before we complete our report on these ideas that will go before council this fall.”
This summary is a result of public sessions in May and June, where ideas for how to use the park were collected, and the subsequent online survey created to receive additional input on those suggestions.
The Belle Park Working Group recommended last year that the City take a look at options for reducing, modifying or eliminating golf at the park and to encourage other recreational uses and/or naturalize some areas of the riverside park located at 731 Montreal Street.
