As the number of golfers using Belle Park continued to decrease, the City sought out the public’s ideas for recreational and naturalization changes that could increase attendance and enjoyment of the Montreal Street park.
A 2016 survey revealed Kingstonians enjoyed being in nature while walking, running, cycling, skiing, and playing Pickleball. Those recommendations led to the City hosting Open Houses in late May and early June where approximately 87 people attended.
Following a presentation to the attendees, individuals then participated in smaller group sessions before reporting back to the group at large.
These ideas will be used in the creation of a survey slated to go online this summer. Results from that survey will be compiled and summarized for a report that will presented to city council this fall.
