Bath Road Multi-Use Path Work and Bikeway Begins Next Week

in News by

Work on a bikeway and multi-use waterfront path along Bath Road from Coverdale Drive to Collins Bay Road is set to begin next Wednesday. When completed, they will connect two existing sections of the Waterfront Trail.

As a result of this work, that section of Bath Road will be down to one eastbound lane between August 1 through to September.

Originally planned to begin last year, the project was delayed due to repairs required due to shoreline erosion caused by high water levels.

“We want to let everyone know this great active transportation project will soon be underway,” said construction manager Anthony Simmons in a release. “You’ll notice crews installing signage and moving traffic control equipment starting today, but this project will not impact traffic until next Wednesday.”

According to a City release, this work is supported by $268,500 in funds from the Government of Ontario through the Ontario Municipal Cycling Infrastructure Program.
