The OLG reports Orrie Michea of Kingston is the newest local winner of $100,000 after matching the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in January 5th’s LOTTO MAX draw.
“I have been playing the lottery regularly for years,” Orrie told the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto while picking up his prize. “I enjoy playing LOTTO MAX and LOTTO 6/49 and I always say yes to ENCORE.”
He discovered the good news after stopping at a convenience store to check his tickets while on his way to get a coffee.
“The first ticket I scanned, I won $10. The second ticket, I won $2. And then third – Bingo! – I won $100,000! I was gob smacked! But I still decided to go and grab a coffee,” he laughed.
A retired teacher, Orrie says he intends to share some of the winnings with family, pay off his wife’s car, and put the rest in the bank.
