Toys for Tickets Collects 370 Toys for Local Charity

The Toys for Tickets 2018 campaign brought in 370 toys that will be distributed to children over the holidays through a local charity.

300 tickets were paid for with the toys between November 1 and December 7 – a total of $7,000 in parking fines waived by the City – by motorists who brought in new, unwrapped toys that were equal to or greater than the amount of the fine.

In a release, Marissa Mascaro, manager, parking services said the campaign had a great turnout this year, adding: “It was so heartening to see the presents that accumulated under the tree and to know that Kingston residents had taken the trouble to turn a parking ticket into a gift for a local child.”
