Princess St. Promenade street festival

Ride Kingston Transit for free city-wide all day on Saturday to check out Downtown Kingston’s Princess St. Promenade street festival.

There will also be a secure, fenced bicycle corral at Wellington Street between Princess and Brock for festival goers wanting to bike to the event.

The Princess St. Promenade street festival takes place from 10 am until 5 pm on Saturday, August 5 on Princess Street between Ontario and Barrie Streets while closed to vehicle traffic.

Plan your free bus trip with Google Transit and track buses with real-time arrival information using Google Maps or other free transit apps found in the Google Play or Apple Apps stores.

“Make getting there part of the fun of this great community festival that celebrates our vibrant downtown and the people who love it,” says Jeremy DaCosta, general manager of Kingston Transit, in a City release.  “Any of our express routes will take you right into the centre of all the excitement.”

The event is designed to make Princess Street a pedestrian-friendly, vehicular-free festival zone while promoting the use of active transportation – including walking, cycling or riding Kingston Transit – to get downtown.

Retailers, restaurants and other Promenade participants will be offering fun activities throughout the day-long event.
