2017 Livable City Desgn Award winner

Winners of the 2017 Livable City Design Awards were announced today by the City of Kingston.

Celebrating excellence in building project design, the nominated projects were all completed between January 1, 2014 and December 31, 2016 and must be visible or accessible to the public.

A jury evaluated the nominees based on a number of criteria that included: significance to the City; significance to their community; innovation; context; execution; sustainable design; and accessibility. Conservation practices were also considered for heritage restoration projects.

The People’s Choice Award – selected by Kingston residents in an online survey in October – went to Martello Alley, located at 203 B Wellington Street.
