Since Twitter celebrated its 10th year in March of this year, it has been marking the anniversary with shout outs to Canadians who have found exceptional uses for their platform.
To celebrate Canada Day, Twitter shared 10 more “Made in Canada” stories that included an example from Kingston.
In a blog article, Rory Capern (Managing Director at Twitter Canada) wrote:
A BIG thank you from us to everybody who took part in #LDSBprepared today!!! @LimestoneDSB pic.twitter.com/WVaaNOZaWC

Senior members of the Frontenac Paramedic Services (@FPSParamedics) and Kingston Fire and Rescue (@KingstonFD) held a live Twitter chat for local residents in May 2016. In honour of Emergency Preparedness Week (#EPweek), officials fielded a wide range of questions from local students and residents about safety in their homes and communities.
Unfortunately, the article lists the wrong Twitter handle for Kingston Fire and Rescue (@KingstonFD is in Kingston, New York) – our Kingston Fire and Rescue can be followed at @KTownFire along with Frontenac Paramedic Services at @FPSParamedics.
NOTE: the article has now been updated to reflect the correct Twitter profile for our Kingston Fire and Rescue.
