Kingston’s long-term care facility, Rideaucrest Home, will be holding its Spring Volunteer Recruitment Fair on Saturday, May 24.

The event will highlight a variety of volunteer opportunities – including gardening, leading tours, and working in a coffee shop or boutique. Rideaucrest Home will be hosting the event at 175 Rideau Street from 10 a.m. to noon, where staff will be available to talk about the benefits of volunteering and what each of the opportunities involve.

“Volunteers share their time, skills and talent with Rideaucrest and it is a generous gift, for which we are sincerely grateful. Our volunteers are exceptional people, with extraordinary hearts who make a difference in the lives of residents, everyday!” said Supervisor Resident Programs and Services, Shiela Thompson, in a release.

The centre also points out that students (13 years of age or older) can benefit by volunteering at Rideaucrest since it can be used to accomplish the mandatory 40 hours of volunteer service required to attain a secondary school diploma.

Check out the Rideaucrest Home website for more information. And if you will be traveling by bus to the event, visit the City’s Trip Planner resource page.
