The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation is congratulating Ronald Durston of Kingston for winning a $100,000 top prize with POKER LOTTO.

“I was stunned when I realized I won,” said Ronald, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “This money is going to help me get by.”

According to the OLG release, the semi-retiree has been experiencing some difficult times.

Ronald plans to use some of his winnings to give back to the community, saying “I’ve been living out of my car in the summertime but winters have been rough… there are some local services that really helped me out in my times of need and it’s my turn to support them.”

He’ll also be making a road trip. “I’m going to drive out east and dip my foot in the Atlantic and then drive out west and see the Pacific. Other than that, I don’t need much.”

Although a Kingstonian, Ronald purchased his winning ticket at the Mac’s convenience store on King Street in Prescott, Ontario.

POKER LOTTO is a lottery game that offers both instant in-store wins – of up to $5,000 – and nightly prize draws of up to $100,000 with each $2 ticket and uses playing card symbols rather than numbers.
