Members of the public who would like to write a message of support to Tragically Hip singer, Gord Downie – who today announced he has terminal brain cancer – are invited to attend the mayor’s office in City Hall to sign a book of well wishes.

“Kingstonians have a special connection to The Tragically Hip not only because the band was formed here and they choose to make Kingston their home but because the members have done so much to give back to our community,” said Mayor Bryan Paterson. “We want Mr. Downie and his family to know we are thinking of them at this difficult time.”

Beginning tomorrow and until June 10th, the book of well wishes will be placed outside of the Mayor’s Office on the second floor of City Hall.

The Tragically Hip have announced they will be going on tour this summer and their new album “Man Machine Poem” is available on June 17th and can be pre-ordered on Amazon and on iTunes.
