Police Arrest Quebec Drug Courier in Kingston

City Police have announced the arrest of a drug courier charged with delivering large amounts of cocaine and marihuana to Kingston.

The Kingston Police Drug Unit, with the assistance of the department’s Canine Unit, conducted the investigation on Wednesday, July 9th that led to stopping a vehicle on Front Road at Days Road at about 3:45 p.m.

Liam D. Bartley from Rawdon, Quebec was subsequently arrested after a search of his vehicle revealed a large quantity of marihuana, cocaine and Canadian currency. The man was charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and remanded into custody.

Police report that 15 pounds of marihuana, four ounces of cocaine, and over $5,000 in Canadian currency – with a total value of approximately $115,000 – were seized.
