Officials Looking for Images and Video from Downtown Fire

The following notice was posted by Kingston Police:

While plans to disassemble the crane continue after it was damaged from the structure fire at Princess St and Victoria St on Tuesday, December 17, detectives with the Kingston Police are working in conjunction with the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office to determine the fire’s origin and cause.

To collect as much information and evidence as possible investigators are appealing to the public for images and video taken of the blaze as it began and while it was still fully active.

While file limits may be dependent on individual email services (Outlook, Hotmail, Gmail, etc.) investigators are interested in images at their highest quality or resolution, and ask that email attachments should be no larger than a combined size of 20 megabytes. Please send additional emails if necessary.

Anyone with videos larger than 20 MB is asked to simply contact the investigators and arrangements can be made to upload or obtain the video via other means.
