Snow Maze and Ice Slide Under Construction for Feb Fest

Published on: 2014/02/03 - in Featured Releases

The Winter Park is back!

After a forced hiatus from Mother Nature, Feb Fest is delighted to announce that construction continued on the snow maze this weekend and the ice slides will be built early next week in Confederation Park as well.

Professional snow builder and award winner Peter Vogelaar from British Columbia is in town to build these two structures over the next week.

Snow will be stomped into place and 300 pound ice blocks will be brought into the park. Both structures will be completed by Wednesday February 5th just in time for the opening of the 10th annual Feb Fest on the 6th.

Both the maze and the slides are generously sponsored by Cruickshank Construction.

Snow sculpture competition will take place again this year beginning at noon on Thursday February 6th with Queen’s, RMC and St Lawrence vying for the annual trophy and bragging rights.
