St George’s Cathedral to Host Choral Evensong

St. George’s Cathedral invites the public to join them for an evening of spiritual refreshment with a service of Choral Evensong to commemorate All Saints on Sunday October 29.

The Cathedral Evensong Choir, directed by Michael Capon, will sing music by Herbert Sumsion, John Reading, and the anthem “O how amiable” by Ralph Vaughan Williams.

The choir begins at their new time of 4 pm in St George’s Cathedral at 270 King St. E. at Johnson in Kingston.

The original St. George’s church at this location was constructed between 1825 and 1828, with periodic enlargements and additions continuing until 1900. It was elevated to cathedral status in 1862.
