Queen’s MBA Program invites the community to join them at the 6th Annual Queen’s MBA Charity Gala Dinner on Thursday, August 30th at the lake-side Harbour restaurant.
The Charity Gala committee hosts an event each year to support a local non-for-profit organization and this year has partnered with Habitat for Humanity – a charity providing affordable housing to low income families.

Learn more about the family who will directly benefit from this event’s fundraising efforts:
Laura Edwards has lived in rental housing since she was born as her mother was not able to afford to buy one.
Now as an adult, she is facing the same challenges with her daughter, Lilah. She “doesn’t want to continue to pay high rental costs to someone else to get a place that isn’t ours”.
Laura feels that the partnership with Habitat for Humanity will give her a sense of relief to know her hard work is going towards something that she will own in the end. Most importantly, she will be able to teach her daughter for years that hard work and helping others can make dreams become reality.
Home to Laura means “…so many things, it’s sometimes hard to define. A place that is our own, where we can do what we want and plan for our future. A place we can grow and not have to worry about rent increases, or having to leave because it has been sold. A place that gives us stability, so my daughter can grow up without having to worry about things a child should not have to worry about.”
The Queen’s MBA Charity Gala Dinner will include a three-course dinner service, a silent auction and great music throughout the night.
