PS3 Rock Band Owners Getting Tragically Hip Song

This week, the Rock Band Network announced PlayStation 3 owners can now jam to to the music of Kingston’s own Tragically Hip beginning August 17.

“Blow at High Dough” was the first single by The Tragically Hip from their 1989 first full-length album “Up to Here”. It was also used as the opening theme song for CBC’s Television comedy ‘Made in Canada’, which starred comedian Rick Mercer and ran from 1998-2003.

This classic Hip song – already released for Xbox 360 Rock Band owners – begins with a mellow beat and quickly picks up with powerful vocals and guitar riffs. With this latest version issued to PS3 owners, the Rock Band Network has answered earlier appeals from owners of that game system’s RockBand version; leaving only Wii owners to await their turn.

The complete list of songs coming to Playstation 3 on August 17 includes:

Texas in July – “Hook, Line, and Sinner”
Job For A Cowboy – “Unfurling A Darkened Gospel”
The Tragically Hip – “Blow at High Dough”
Jonathan Coulton – “Mandelbrot Set”
Anarbor – “Let The Games Begin”

The Tragically Hip has released 12 studio albums, 2 live albums, and 46 singles since forming in Kingston in 1983. They have received numerous Canadian Music awards including 14 Junos. The band is comprised of lead singer and guitarist Gordon Downie, Rob Baker and Paul Langlois on guitar, Gord Sinclair on bass, and Johnny Fay on drums.
