Kopecky Family Band to Play the Queen’s Grad Club

Nashville Indie rock band Kopecky Family Band is coming to play The Grad Club  on Friday, November 15 – supporting headliner Said the Whale and alongside Toronto band Alvvays.

Last year, Kopecky Family Band released their first full length album, Kids Raising Kids, and this past July they performed their single “Heartbeat” on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. (embedded below)

Featuring covers of Fleetwood Mac and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Kopecky Family Band is currently offering a free download of We’ve Got It Covered – a two song EP – that fans can find at NoiseTrade.com or by following links on the band’s website.

Kopecky Family Band was formed in 2007 by Kelsey Kopecky (vocals, keyboards, bass) and Gabriel Simon (vocals, guitar, horns).  Other “family members” include Steven Holmes (guitar, lap steel guitar), David Krohn (drums), Markus Midkeff (cello, guitar, keyboards), and Corey Oxendine (bass, guitar, horns).

Performing at such renowned festivals as Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, Outside Lands and SXSW – the Kopecky Family Band ‘s music has also been featured on shows that include Grey’s Anatomy, The Vampire Diaries, and ESPN’s College Game Day.

Headliner Said the Whale is a Vancouver based Juno-winning band that released their new album Hawaii in September. Both bands are also playing Quebec City, Montreal, Ottawa, Guelph, St. Catharine’s, London, and Toronto on their Canadian tour dates.

Doors open for the November 15 Kingston concert at 9PM and the show starts at 10PM. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at The Grad Club, the SGPS Ticket Outlet, or online at ticketfly.com. The show is 19+.
