A night of burlesque, circus and musical acts is rolling into town on January 10th at The Mansion (506 Princess Street).

The Blood Ballet Cabaret, hailing from Montreal, features circus acts ranging from aerial contortion to fire hooping and burlesque dance.

Their performances, wrote Nightlife Magazine, are capable of making “its audience travel through time and space with simple, yet well-elaborated concept shows.”

The group prefers to perform in a more intimate setting that allows them to be interactive with their audiences.

The troupe leader – who goes by the stage name Ms. Bloody Mary Anne – trained as a child with Russian Bolshoi ballerinas in Cairo before moving to Montreal, where she went from university studies to creating a burlesque show with edgy style in 2010.

The Blood Ballet Cabaret are currently touring Ontario, Quebec and New York, showcasing their latest creation, Illuminatease, a “titillating cabaret presentation with a conspiracy theme that demonstrates stories of moon landings, religious conspiracies & celebrity assassinations!”

Local performers Teenage Frankenstein, The Huaraches and Mississippi Grover will also be performing.

Tickets are available at the door, which opens at 9:00pm, and the 19+ show begins at 9:30pm.
