When emerging artist show promise, they don’t stay under the radar for long. Bursting onto the scene in 2013, Kingston’s The Glorious Sons have generated plenty of industry buzz for their top-shelf singles and engaging concert performances across Canada.

On September 16, the band will follow up their early success by launching a new, full-length debut album entitled ‘The Union‘ available via Black Box.

This album follows their debut EP with The Trews’ John-Angus MacDonald, ‘Shapeless Art‘, which earned the Sons a nomination for the 2014 SiriusXM Emerging Artist Of The Year (English), and a nod for Best New Group Or Solo Artist: Rock at the 2014 CRMAs.

Paired up once again with John-Angus MacDonald, who produced the majority of tracks on ‘The Union’, the new album features 11 songs, including the driving single “Heavy” which premiered on Kingston’s K-Rock radio station. The full album, its new tunes, and previous songs by The Glorious Sons can be (pre)ordered on iTunes now.

The mass appeal of this group’s music has been partly attributed to their blue collar perspective. The words used to describe the collection includes eclectic and cohesive as it weaves a tapestry of relatable themes such as passion, love, loss, redemption and life.

“With this album, I wanted to create a feeling of nostalgia that would make people look back and wonder what they had missed,” said vocalist Brett Emmons, in a release, adding “When I picked up my first guitar, I couldn’t help but sing. When I started singing, I couldn’t help but write. All I want is for people to hear this album, because I feel like we’ve been writing it our whole lives.”

The band will take the new songs from ‘The Union’ on the road this fall on a cross-Canada tour along with Australian rock band, Airbourne, including a hometown show in Kingston on October 15th at the Ale House.
