Choirs to Perform at Area Churches

On Sunday February 19, St. George’s Cathedral presents a service of Choral Evensong  at 5 pm.

The Cathedral Evensong Choir will sing music by Herbert Howells, John Sanders, and Canadian composer Richard Baker.

Join the congregation for an evening of spiritual refreshment at 270 King Street E. at Johnson Street.

On Saturday March 11, the 100-strong Open Voices Community Choir presents songs from the Spiritual tradition.

Featuring guest conductor Ian Juby – Chorus Master of Kingston Choral Society and Capitol Men’s Chorus – the 7:30 pm performance will take place in Cooke’s-Portsmouth United Church at 200 Norman Rogers Drive.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for those under 18, and can be purchased at Brian’s Record Option, Long & McQuade Musical Instruments (formerly Renaissance Music), Limestone Music, online at openvoices.ca using Paypal, from Choir members, or at the church one hour before the concert.

The presentation is supported by the Ontario Trillium Foundation and is wheelchair accessible.
