St. George’s Cathedral Hosting Choir Concerts, Serving High Tea

St. George’s Cathedral has announced it will be hosting the University Choir from Sewanee Tennessee, directed by Geoffrey Ward, in a freewill offering concert on Tuesday May 15 at 7:30pm. Music by Anton Bruckner, Charles Wood, Charles Stanford, Felix Mendelssohn, Jehan Alain, John Tavener, and others.

The University Choir has actively toured throughout the United States and made ten tours of England since 1979, singing the service of Choral Evensong in more than 23 cathedrals and abbey churches.

Thy will be performing in St. George’s Cathedral which is located at 270 King St. E. (at Johnson) in Kingston.

Later in the month, the St. George’s Cathedral Children’s Choir, directed by Michael Capon, and the Youth Group, directed by Jennifer Wilson, will
perform a concert in the Cathedral Great Hall. The concert begins at 4pm on Sunday May 27 with a delicious High Tea being served starting at 3pm.

Admission to this concert is free, with a voluntary offering collected in support of the Choir program. The Great Hall is at 129 Wellington St. (at Johnson) in Kingston.
