St. George’s Cathedral Announces Choral Evensong Dates

St. George’s Cathedral invites the public to join them for services featuring Choral Evensong by choirs in September and October.

On Sunday September 20 at 5pm, the Cathedral Evensong Choir and the Choir of St. Mark’s Church, Barriefield, will sing music by Felix Mendelssohn, Michael Goodwin, and William Smith.

Choral Evensong will also be sung at St. George’s Cathedral on Sunday October 18 at 5pm. The Cathedral Evensong Choir will sing music by J.S. Bach, William Harris, and Richard Ayleward. Following the
service, Michael Capon, the Cathedral Organist, will play a short organ recital featuring the works of J.S. Bach and others.

St George’s Cathedral is located at 270 King St. E. at Johnson in Kingston.

Article has been updated to reflect the cancellation of Saturday September 26th’s chorus by the Choir of Men and Boys of Christ Church Cathedral in Ottawa. A second update was made to add that there will also be an organ recital on October 18.
