As part of last night’s 2017 Brit Awards, the Top 10 songs that make British people feel young again were revealed.
The recent survey, conducted by Warner Leisure Hotels in celebration of the awards show, was carried out to determine which songs make British people feel 20 years younger.
And the poll revealed the top song chosen by Brits is “Summer of 69”, by the Kingston-born singer/song-writer, Bryan Adams.
The leading genre of all the tunes picked was Pop – with 41% of the top songs – with Rock and Metal at 10% and R&B finishing with 9%.
Bryan Adams is currently on a world tour in support of his new “Get Up” album. He is also composing music for an upcoming play based on the 1990 film “Pretty Woman” along with his long time songwriting partner, Jim Vallance.
Bryan Guy Adams was born here in Kingston in 1959 to British parents who immigrated to Canada from Plymouth, England in the 1950s. His father was an officer in the British Army and then joined the Canadian Army, which included a posting to CFB Kingston during Bryan’s birth and early childhood.
