St. George’s Cathedral will be hosting an Advent Candlelight Procession with Carols on Sunday, November 24 beginning at 5pm.

The Cathedral Adult, Youth, and Children’s Choirs will lead the congregational singing as well as performing music by Palestrina, John Carter, Franz Biebl, John Stainer, and Peter Aston.

“The service symbolizes the journey from Advent to Christmas, from the Old Testament to the New, from darkness to light,” according to an event release. “Beginning in darkness, candles are gradually lit as the choir travels through the sanctuary, singing in different locations, until the building is filled with light and music.

You can join the St. George’s Cathedral congregation’s celebration of the beginning of the Advent season at 270 King St. E. (at Johnson) in Kingston.
