St. George’s Cathedral Announces August Summer Concerts

The St. George’s Cathedral Summer Concerts continue throughout the month of August, every Thursday from 12:15 pm to 12:50 pm. Admission is free, with a voluntary offering collected.

August 3 will feature the Greater Kingston Chorus. The women’s a cappella show chorus is part of the Sweet Adeline’s International organization, and qualified to compete in Las Vegas in October 2017.

Young pianist Leonid Nediak will be performing a program of music by himself and Ludwig van Beethoven on August 10. Just 13 years of age, Nediak has established himself as a gifted performer, winning a variety of prestigious awards and performed with many orchestras across North America.

August 17th’s concert is with the Sundance Trio, who will perform music by Simon Sargon, Theodor Burkali, and Francis Poulenc. Founded in 2005, the Utah based trio features oboist Geralyn Giovannetti, bassoonist Christian Smith, and pianist Jed Moss.

Montreal pianist Tomoko Inui and clarinetist Pedro MolinaThe will be at St. George’s Cathedral on August 24th, performing music by Pablo de Sarasate, Jörg Widmann, and Robert Schumann.

The St. George’s Cathedral Summer Concerts concludes on Thursday August 31 with Montreal organist Federico Andreoni performing music by Jehan Alain, Federico Andreoni, Marco Bossi, Aram Kachaturian, and Charles-Marie Widor.
